ABSTRACT
This research analyzed the social and environmental impacts generated by the fashion industry on a global scale, a sector of significant importance for the world economy, but which is currently among the most polluting. In addition to causing significant damage to the environment, this industry is often associated with the violation of labor rights, by virtue of practices aimed exclusively at maximizing profit. In this context, Fashion Law emerged, with the purpose of protecting intellectual property rights, regulating sector-specific contracts and serving as a strategic instrument for the promotion of sustainable and socially responsible practices. The objective of the study was to investigate the relationship between conscious consumption and Fashion Law in the Brazilian fashion industry, seeking to understand how this intersection influences both business practices and consumer behavior. From a bibliographic review and field research with the application of questionnaires, the results revealed that, although most consumers still do not adopt sustainable criteria as determinants in their choices, they show growing interest in ethical and social aspects, especially with regard to working conditions.
